Principals:
Sowell & Russell Architects, Inc. was founded in 1995 by Rik Sowell and Ricky Russell. Our firm consists of two registered architects, and one office assistant. Rik Sowell serves as designer and manager for all projects. Ricky Russell operates the drafting computer and is responsible for the production of construction documents. Together, we bring more than fifty years of experience to each project.
Emphasis:
Approximately 35% of our work is commercial projects, and 65% is church projects. We have produced numerous shopping centers, banks, clinics and other similar projects. More than two hundred church related projects have been managed by the principals.
Consultants:
We retain independent consultants for mechanical, electrical and structural design. When required, consultants with unique specialties such as acoustics, lighting, sound and A/V systems are also retained. Working with outside consultants allows us to hand-pick a project team specifically tailored to each project.
Technical:
Sowell & Russell is completely computerized with the most up-to-date computer hardware and software systems. All drawings are produced using AUTOCAD, the most widely used architectural drafting software package. Our specifications are edited from MASTERSPEC software, endorsed by the American Institute of Architects.
Philosophy:
Good architecture must address the ultimate goals and unique characteristics of each project. No project is the same. Each project will be approached from a fresh point of view; no off-the-shelf architecture will be provided. To you, the client, the most important project in our office is yours. We will treat it the same. We enjoy what we do, and we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
